In producing feature documentaries SAINTS AND WARRIORS, SATAN WANTS YOU, THE GRIZZLIE TRUTH, and I'M JUST HERE FOR THE RIOT, Grand Scheme's backbone is the collaboration with talented directors, writers, editors, cinematographers, producers and other key crew who bring these stories to life and make the filmmaking journey as rewarding as the World Premiere. Partnerships with broadcasters, distributors, funders, festivals and other stakeholders make these projects possible in the first place and provide the support to make film and tv at the highest level for audiences far and wide.
Grand Scheme is currently in production on feature documentary RELAX, OPEN YOUR EYES for CRAVE and GAME THEORY FILMS, documentary series SUPERNATURALS for APTN, and one-off documentary BOT, LOVED? for CBC.
Producer Michael Tanko Grand's most recent work includes 4 feature documentaries: SAINTS AND WARRIORS, which had its World Premiere in February 2025 at Big Sky, and won a Top 5 Audience Award at Hot Docs, SATAN WANTS YOU which had its World Premiere at SXSW 2023, Canadian Premiere at Hot Docs 2023, and is a TUBI & CBC Docs Original; I’M JUST HERE FOR THE RIOT, an ESPN 30 for 30, which had its World Premiere at Hot Docs 2023, US premiere at Big Sky, and launched on ESPN and TSN summer 2024; and THE GRIZZLIE TRUTH, which won the Audience Award at its World Premiere at VIFF 2022, Best Documentary and the Audience Award at Reel Asian 2022, and is a CRAVE Original. Michael’s is currently in production on Grand Scheme’s next feature documentary RELAX, OPEN YOUR EYES, which explores the cryonics community in Western Canada and its global imprint. He’s also in production on his first documentary series about Indigenous Fashion for APTN called SUPERNATURALS and a TV hour documentary for CBC Passionate Eye about AI and loneliness, called BOT, LOVED?.
MICHAEL TANKO GRAND | PRESIDENT AND PRODUCER
Jemma Titheridge is an emerging Producer, having worked on world class international television productions in the science, documentary and factual genres. She has worked on projects for broadcasters including BBC, National Geographic, Disney+, Apple TV+, PBS, CBC, Arte and ZDF. Starting her career in London, UK, she has now brought her experience working on landmark factual productions to locations across Canada and Alaska. With a background in Animal Biology, and an MSc in Science Media Production, Jemma specializes in specialist factual storytelling, and is driven by documentaries that centre social and environmental change. Jemma started working with Grand Scheme in 2024.
